Testimonials
My name is Jeremy Simile. For those who have faced the hardships of addiction or the experience of incarceration, my name may resonate. My journey began during the final months of a 27-month sentence, locked away in solitary confinement. After suffering a life-altering injury during a prison riot, all stemming from my involvement with drugs, I found myself at a crossroads, yearning for change but unsure how to achieve it. The odds seemed insurmountable.
However, it was through what I can only describe as divine intervention that I discovered Northern Alliance Reentry Inc. This organization offered me an opportunity to step into a supportive environment, free from the unhealthy behaviors that had plagued my past. Following Jose and Ashleigh’s lead, I found more than just mentorship; I discovered a community that understood my struggles firsthand, because they had walked similar paths.
Jose and Ashleigh are a testament to resilience. They possess a unique blend of toughness honed by their experiences on the streets and compassion inspired by their faith. They care deeply about each person who enters their program, fostering an environment of understanding and accountability. Throughout my life, I often felt I had been dealt a bad hand, but Northern Alliance taught me how to discard that hand and forge a new one.
I am proud to share that today; I celebrate over 18 months of sobriety. I have regained custody of both of my teenage children and remain actively engaged in my recovery through service work and sponsorship. The transformation I experienced is the result of countless factors aligning, but it was the support and structure provided by Jose and Ashleigh that served as the foundation. They played a crucial role in helping a once hopeless jailbird, gangbanging junkie like myself find the strength to rebuild my life—one STEP at a time.
FOREVER GRATEFUL
